The Pac-12 Conference today declared its 2021 football plan during a unique three-hour broadcast on Pac-12 Network and SiriusXM Pac-12 Radio. Blending a serious nine-game Conference plan with a record of marquee non-gathering matchups, the 2021 timetable incorporates:
- Nine games against Power Five opponents outside of the Pac-12 and two against Notre Dame
- Four contests against groups that completed Top 5 in the 2020 last College Football Playoff rankings
- 10 games against non-Pac-12 groups that completed in the Top 25 in the 2020 last College Football Playoff rankings
- 11 games against Group of Five opponents and five games against BYU
The 2021 football season is set to open on Saturday, August 28, as UCLA has Hawai’i before the full record commences with each of the 12 groups playing the next week, remembering two games for Thursday, Sept. 2, one game on Friday, Sept. 3, and nine on Saturday, Sept. 4.
During the initial fourteen days of the normal season, the Pac-12 timetable will highlight non-gathering matchups against Power Five adversaries including UCLA versus LSU (Sept. 4), STANFORD versus Kansas State (Sept. 4 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Tex.), OREGON STATE at Purdue (Sept. 4), OREGON at Ohio State (Sept. 11), WASHINGTON at Michigan (Sept. 11), CALIFORNIA at TCU (Sept. 11) and COLORADO versus Texas A&M (Sept. 11 at Empower Field at Mile High). The next week, on Saturday, Sept. 18, the Cardinal will go to Vanderbilt while the Buffs have Minnesota, balancing the Pac-12’s timetable versus Force Five adversaries over the season’s initial three weeks.
Stanford this season will end its timetable by facilitating Notre Dame on Saturday, Nov. 27, while USC will venture out to South Bend to play the Fighting Irish on Saturday, Oct. 23.
Altogether, the Pac-12 will see five challenges against BYU, including ARIZONA versus BYU on Saturday, Sept. 4, from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., just as 11 challenges against Group of Five adversaries, including matchups against Arkansas State, Fresno State (two aggregate), Hawai’i (two aggregate), Nevada, San Diego State (two aggregate), San Jose State, UNLV and Utah State.
Pac-12 play will begin in Week Two, as Stanford goes to USC on Saturday, Sept. 11, trailed by USC at WASHINGTON STATE on Saturday, Sept. 18, preceding the full Conference record commencing Week Four.
With regards to custom, contention games will be played over the last fourteen days of the ordinary season, trailed by the 2021 Pac-12 Football Championship Game, introduced by 76®, which will happen interestingly at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., on Friday, Dec. 3.
The timetable includes two Thursday matchups (both in Week One) and nine Friday matchups, including the alliance’s title game.
A combination of the ESPN channels, ABC, FOX and FS1 will communicate 45 games broadly, including the Pac-12 Championship Game, and Pac-12 Networks will offer 36 games to a public crowd. Precise transmission timetables will be resolved sometime in the not too distant future.
