Major League Baseball launches wood-bat league for draft-qualified prospects
Major League Baseball is making a small time for top qualified prospects prompting the late spring draft.
The wood-bat MLB Draft League is dispatching with five groups and could add a 6th, MLB said Monday. Groups will play a 68-game normal season that incorporates an All-Star break that would match with the draft toward the beginning of July.
Groups are being granted to networks that lost establishments as MLB moved to contract the partnered lower levels from 160 to 120 groups this offseason following the termination of the Professional Baseball Agreement, which administered the connection between the majors and minors. MLB has wanted to take out the different overseeing collection of small time baseball.
